The Huizenga Legacy
The Nova Southeastern University H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship is named for a man who dominated in business and changed the lives of countless people. A proud resident of Fort Lauderdale, H. Wayne Huizenga loved NSU and his community. Despite juggling a busy schedule, he always took the time to give back to students and helped mentor many of today’s business leaders.
Among his successful accomplishments:
-
Created three Fortune 500 companies
-
Owned three sports teams in South Florida (Marlins, Panthers, and Dolphins)
-
Five time recipient of Financial World Magazine's CEO of the year
He was also involved with many civic organizations, including the Florida Council of 100, the Florida Council on Economic Education, the Salvation Army of Broward County, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County.
Huizenga believed in the immense potential of NSU and the business college. Today, we continue to honor his legacy by empowering like-minded entrepreneurs and business leaders with the skills and knowledge they need to dominate their own future.
