Dear Friends and Fellow Sharks,
As we approach the end of the winter semester, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our faculty, staff, alumni, students, and the business leaders who continue to contribute to our collective success. While much of 2025 still lies ahead, this moment offers an opportunity to reflect on the remarkable achievements we have already accomplished together. Most notably, HCBE has once again risen in the national rankings, a testament to the excellence and dedication that defines our community.
HCBE Climbs Again in U.S. News Rankings and Princeton Review
We are proud to share that for the second consecutive year, HCBE has advanced in the national rankings:
- Graduate Entrepreneurship: 42nd nationally, 8th in the South.
- Best Online Master’s in Business Programs: From 201st to 190th.
- Best Online Master’s in Business Programs (Excluding MBA): From 134th to 122nd for our MACC and MS degree programs.

Palm Beach One-Year MBA Attracts Top Talent
Our Palm Beach One-Year MBA continues to attract professionals from diverse fields including human resources, accounting, and engineering. This accelerated, 11-month program prepares students with core business knowledge and real-world project experience under the guidance of Fortune 500 executives and industry leaders.
Expanding Our Work in Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality
HCBE has renewed its exciting partnership with The Glimpse Group. Through their subsidiary Foretell Reality, we are extending development of a simulation and assessment platform leveraging virtual reality and AI to give students immersive, experiential learning opportunities.
Distinguished Lecture Series Inspires and Educates
Our Distinguished Lecture Series continues to bring valuable insights to campus. This semester:
- Don Campion inspired students to "Live Passionately, Learn Enthusiastically, Succeed Humbly & Give Generously."
- Mario Murgado emphasized the importance of attitude, perseverance, and conviction for business success.
Leadership Across Generations Event
At the NSU Alvin Sherman Library, we hosted a dynamic panel, including Rita Case, Juliet Roulhac, Caitlin Stella, and Sandy Lighterman, discussing evolving leadership styles across generations. The conversation highlighted how communication and management practices are changing across workplaces.
Entrepreneurs Among Us and Leadership Values
Through panels led by leaders like Keith Koenig and Bob Venero, students explored how to embrace uncertainty and lead with compassion. Additionally, Dr. George Hanbury and Bob DeKoch explored the deep connection between leadership, values, and societal civility.
Supporting Research and Innovation through Seed Grants
This year, HCBE proudly recognizes the outstanding recipients of Research Seed Grants, supporting pioneering projects that blend technology, management, and social impact. Special thanks to the Research and Scholarly Committee (Suri Weisfeld-Spolter, Tim Page, Adam Williams, Rebecca Abraham, Tais Barreto, Yuliya Yurova, and Renu Desai) for their work in selecting these exceptional proposals.

Leadership Update: New Chair of HCBE Board of Governors
We welcome Cherilyn G. Murer, founder and CEO of the Murer Group, as the new Chair of HCBE’s Board of Governors. We also extend our thanks to outgoing Chair Paul Sallarulo for his dedicated leadership and support.
Student-Managed Investment Fund: Real-World Success
Under Dr. Antonio Figueiredo’s leadership, the Student-Managed Investment Fund, launched with a $100,000 seed investment, has grown to over $130,000 and continues to outperform the S&P 500 in 2025’s volatile market. Thanks to the support of the Jerry Taylor and Nancy Bryant Trading Floor, our students are gaining unparalleled real-world investment experience.
I am proud of the progress we continue to make together at HCBE. I look forward to the next chapter of innovation, leadership, and success.
