Jessica A. Wright is a seasoned public-sector business and finance leader with more
than two decades
of experience spanning financial management, budget oversight, project coordination,
and
organizational leadership across both government and private-sector environments.
Born in Evanston,
Illinois, Jessica relocated to South Florida at a young age and has spent most of
her life building a
career dedicated to public service and organizational excellence in the region.
Jessica currently serves as Business Manager for Broward County Parks & Recreation
Administration,
where she provides financial stewardship and fiscal accountability for the department’s
overall budget
exceeding $170 million, supporting Broward County’s parks and natural areas. In this
role, she
oversees budget formulation, financial analysis, expenditure monitoring, fund allocation,
and
compliance across multiple funding sources. Her responsibilities include financial
oversight of funding
dedicated to the maintenance, enhancement, and expansion of Parks & Recreation assets,
working
closely with the Office of Management and Budget, Accounting, Procurement, and executive
leadership
to ensure transparency, audit readiness, and alignment with adopted fiscal policies.
Prior to her current role, Jessica held several senior positions with Broward County
that strengthened
her foundation in public-sector finance and infrastructure management. She previously
served as
Administrative Officer, Senior within the Public Works – Traffic Engineering Division,
where she
managed a capital budget exceeding $28 million and an operating budget of more than
$16 million.
Earlier roles included Administrative Officer in the Highway Construction and Engineering
Division,
overseeing a multi-million-dollar operating budget and supporting a division of more
than 60
employees, as well as Building Manager in the Aviation Division, where she coordinated
projects and
collaborated with senior leadership and civil engineers to ensure safe, compliant
project delivery.
In the private sector, Jessica served as a Senior Community Manager, overseeing the
operations of
multiple residential communities. Her responsibilities included operating budget development,
contract management, acquisition-based lending database administration, and financial
performance
oversight. Her work consistently emphasized fiscal discipline, accountability, and
strong vendor and
stakeholder relationships.
Jessica holds a Master of Science in Engineering Management and a Bachelor of Business
Administration in Management from Florida International University, along with an
Associate in Arts in
Business Management from Valencia College. Her academic background supports deep expertise
in
budgeting, financial analysis, strategic planning, and project coordination across
complex
organizational environments.
She holds a Florida Real Estate Sales Associate License issued by the Florida Department
of Business
and Professional Regulation and is certified in multiple levels of the National Incident
Management
System (NIMS) through the Federal Emergency Management Agency. These credentials reflect
her
commitment to professional growth, regulatory compliance, and preparedness in public
service.
Residing in South Florida, Jessica is happily married to her husband Aaron. Together,
they have three
adult children. Jessica continues to be a high-impact leader, leveraging her extensive
experience and
expertise to drive organizational success and deliver exceptional results in every
role she undertakes.
