M.S. Real Estate Development Student Profiles

 

Blanca Meili VieraBlanca Meili Viera is pursuing her M.S.R.E.D. after being in the real estate industry as a sales associate for 13 years. She is looking to bring extensive value to her clients and expand her knowledge of development to successfully open a Multi-Faceted Brokerage covering all sectors of the real estate industry. Meili has built her brand on being a multi-faceted bilingual professional with 13 years of experience in residential and commercial sales, investment properties and commercial retail shopping centers leasing & management. In 2017 she closed over $12 Million in Real Estate home sales & Commercial leasing transactions. Meili is focused on delivering an outstanding service experience for her customers. Her focus is attention to detail, excelling in communicating, placing her customers' interests above her own and delivering tangible and profitable results.

 

Brandon BellBrandon Bell is pursuing his M.S.R.E.D. after graduating from Florida State University in May of 2018 with a B.S. in Real Estate. Brandon is 22 and currently works at Landmark Custom Homes of Broward. Brandon also holds an active real estate sales associate license and after the program will obtain a real estate broker license, as well as a general contractor's license. Brandon aspires to work in corporate real estate.

 

Bruce FlemingBruce Fleming is pursuing his M.S.R.E.D. after a 5-year career in the US Army and most recent work as a commercial real estate underwriter for Kalb Mortgage solutions a leading correspondent lender in South Florida. Bruce would like to grow his real estate finance and investment knowledge through the MSRED program. After finishing his M.S.R.E.D. he would like to pursue the CFA designation. Bruce holds a B.S. in Urban & Regional Planning with a minor in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University.

 

Ryan KaufmanRyan Kaufman was raised in the Fort Lauderdale suburbs of Davie. His undergraduate degree was successfully completed at Florida Gulf Coast University, where Ryan earned a bachelor's degree in Finance. His first exposure to finance stems back to conversations with his grandfather, who at a young age, exposed Ryan to personal finance, discipline investing, as well as, the importance of character, honesty, and empathy. While pursuing his degree at Florida Gulf Coast University, Ryan worked as a caddie at the Tiburon Ritz Carlton Naples Golf Club. He enjoyed using this exposure to converse with a variety of professionals. He is currently pursuing his Master's in Real Estate Development with the goal of learning the nuances of asset-level returns to build a solid foundation for a career in real estate finance, investment banking or private equity.

 

Alex CohenAlex Cohen is pursuing his M.S.R.E.D. shortly after graduating from Florida State University. Alex would like to gain knowledge and experience through the program to learn the skills to start his career in real estate. He also hopes to be able to assist his family's real estate company in the future with these skills. Alex got his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at Florida State.

 

Alana StewartAlana Stewart is a recent graduate from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.A. in Communications and a minor in Sociology. Additionally, she is currently licensed to sell Real Estate in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Alana hopes to learn the different skills and aspects of becoming a successful developer so that after the program she can pursue her passion of building homes.

 

James CarterJames Carter started the MRED program after completing his M.B.A. with a concentration in Management. Prior to his enrollment, James spent 17 years in the United States Army’s Infantry Branch. He is exploring the multitude of opportunities that exist in the field of real estate development. James finds the area of urban development and investment promising and would be interested in opportunities in this field. As previously stated, James holds an M.B.A. from Nova Southeastern University and also holds a B.A. in History from Norwich University, Military College of Vermont.

 

Michael OshmanMichael Oshman Michael is a development associate who works with management to analyze properties and improve organizational efficiency. Prior to Ceiba, Michael worked at a leading tech company where he managed and upsold on a book of business of $3 million with Fortune 500 clients. Fundamental to Michael’s success is a strategic, data-driven approach in which he is constantly seeking to unlock the most value. Michael is passionate about empowering others using technology. Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Psychology, Magna Cum Laude from Lehigh University.

 

Nathan JohnsonNathan Johnson is pursuing his MRED while being posted in South Florida with the US Department of State. Nathan has been a part of our nation's Diplomatic Corps for over 11 years. He has been posted in Germany, Thailand and most recently in Valletta Malta whereas a part of his duties he was the Real Property Manager for the US Embassy. Prior to his Foreign Service career, Nathan was in the Marine Corps. He retired after a 22-year career with the rank of Sergeant Major. Nathan finds the RED program very interesting and he believes that if he is successful in his studies he could possibly make a career change. Nathan has an B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Maryland and an MS in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.

 

Angelo PaladinoAngelo Paladino has been licensed for real estate in both Arkansas and Florida and currently holds an active Sales Associate License with Century 21 KoRes Commercial. Mr. Paladino graduated from college with high honors as a double major in Psychology and History. Directly out of college, Mr. Paladino was recruited and trained as a business-to-business (B2B) sales consultant with a concentration in value added solution selling methods by Hewlett-Packard (HP). Mr. Paladino has been trained through the Century 21 Advance Commercial Adviser (ACA) curriculum, the Century 21 Commercial Management Academy (CMA) and is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Real Estate Development (MSRED) from the Terry W. Stiles School of Real Estate Development within the H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business & Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University (NSU). Mr. Paladino, as of 2017, entered into an apprenticeship under Adam P. Von Romer, CCIM. Mr. Von Romer is a 35-year veteran of the South Florida Commercial Real Estate Market, has personally closed, managed, or supervised in excess of $1.6 Billion in commercial transactions and has the number one best-selling book on Amazon in commercial real estate field titled Getting Started In Commercial Real Estate.

 

Jeffrey HeardJeffrey Heard is pursuing his MSRED after being in the real estate industry for nearly two decades. Over the past twenty years, Jeff has worked in all facets of real estate, including hotel development, construction, commercial sales, property management, and higher education. Jeff formed his passion for the hospitality industry while earning his Bachelor’s in Finance from Florida International University (FIU) and specialization in hotel development with the FIU School of Hospitality. Jeff’s development efforts include land use regulation in Miami Beach and also participating with the assemblage of a contiguous mile of oceanfront in Daytona Beach. Jeff began his career by founding his own site development firm where he provided site development services for golf courses and athletic fields, including Atlanta Braves Baseball. Since 2013, Jeff has worked with the Nova Southeastern University Office of Facilities Management where he manages over 20 million square feet of property across five campuses in the South Florida area. After graduation his plans include supporting the build out of higher education campuses and working in real estate for the development of large-scale hospitality projects.

 

Oslyn Thomas-VolkOslyn Thomas-Volk is pursuing her M.S.R.E.D. while maintaining a successful career as realtor, broker associate, and community association manager. In addition, Oslyn is a licensed nurse in the State of Florida. Oslyn has maintained her passion for real estate and is currently managing a private portfolio consisting of over 300,000 square feet of office and retail space. After completing her M.S.R.E.D. Oslyn plans to go to law school and utilize her formal training to provide a more comprehensive service to her future commercial developers and investment clients.

 

Marcela DibMarcela Dib joined Nova Southeastern University’s MSRED program motivated by her exposure to the industry while working for a Real Estate Developer for over 4 years. She started as the Executive Assistant to CEO and officially became the team’s Director of Operations in 2018. She actively participates in the company’s projects due diligence, budgeting, closing, overseeing deliverables, and managing account payables. She also supports the site selection process and qualifying projects for the company’s Florida office. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in Management from Florida International University.

Judson Robertson Judson Robertson currently lives in Davie Florida and is practicing real estate in the South Florida market. He holds an active Florida Real Estate Sales Associate License where he has gained knowledge and experience in real estate sales, leases, investments, and contracts over the past three years. Judson recently graduated from Nova Southeastern University earning a BS in Business Administration and will pursue his MRED in the Fall of 2019. He also was an NCAA athlete and part of the Nova Southeastern swim team which won multiple state and conference championships. Judson has been mentored by numerous real estate investors in South Florida with a primary goal of learning, understanding, and pursing Real-estate Finance and Development.

 

Juanita Bernal Juanita Bernal is an architectural designer at GarciaStromberg. Participating in Harvard’s Career Discovery Program became the springboard to her pursuit of a career in architecture. This program enabled her to fully immerse herself in Harvard’s fascinating learning environment. She then went on to complete her Bachelor’s of architecture at Florida Atlantic University and began her first career move after graduation at GarciaStromberg. In her 3 years with the firm, she has been involved in projects of numerous scales and has had the opportunity to participate in most all phases of the design process. Juanita has been involved with the ULI for 2 years and is the co-chair for the Young Leaders of Palm Beach.

 

Kashane TigerKashane S. Tiger is pursuing his M.S.R.E.D. after recently completing his MBA from Nova Southeastern University with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. Kashane spent 20 years of honorable service in the United States Air Force Active Duty in the Supply Chain Management and Logistics career Field. Since leaving the U.S. Air Force, Kashane has diligently started his own property management business managing his own rental properties that are in different areas of Florida. His efforts have given him hands on experience in buying and renting out properties, over the last 20 years, which has allowed him to see the benefits of single-family home dollar appreciation over time. Kashane having hands-on experience in Real Estate has helped him realize that pursuing his M.S.R.E.D. at Nova Southeastern University would help him attain his future goal of networking with like-minded people and expand his knowledge of anything and everything pertaining to the Real Estate industry.
