Paul Alexander Zhuravlev is a former senior banker, an entrepreneur, a licensed Realtor, and a Professor of Finance in the H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business at Nova Southeastern University.
With nearly three decades of professional experience spanning roles in structured finance, energy infrastructure, syndications, investment banking, mining, and real estate, he is eager to bring real-world insights into the classroom. He has worked as a consultant for renewable energy and infrastructure projects, Senior Vice President and Head of Project Finance Risk Management at Sabadell Bank, and Vice President at FirstBank Florida, where he originated and managed complex loan structures. He started his banking career at Mizuho Bank, one of the largest international banks, where he spent over 17 years in New York, Toronto, and Singapore, closing and managing hundreds of major project finance deals across a wide range of industries. Earlier, he worked for an international mining firm and a commodities trader in the U.S. and Canada. Mr. Zhuravlev was a guest lecturer at several colleges and conducted various training programs. Over the years, he has made presentations at a number of industry conferences and seminars.
His business experience extends to structuring and syndicating debt, raising equity, credit risk quantification, managing financial due diligence, reviewing business cases, project tendering, negotiating project and finance agreements, financial modeling, and marketing diverse banking products, such as public and private debt, private placement, cash management, trade finance, securitization, and FX.
Mr. Zhuravlev holds an MBA degree from York University in Canada and a Master of Arts degree from St. John’s University in New York. He speaks several languages.
