Diversity Management and Cultural Competency

1 Full Day

Program Description

Diversity, according to the dictionary, means "difference" or "variety." So the term diverse workforce refers to a workforce where the group members and associates have a variety of different characteristics. By becoming aware of today’s diversity and its impact on you as a professional leader/manager, you can learn effective ways of dealing with prospective issues appropriately.

Diversity management is about creating inclusion. This course is not only designed to help you become aware of some of the major changes in today’s workforce, but also to give you some of the skills needed to maximize productivity and gain a competitive advantage through a diverse and inclusive workforce.

Learning Outcomes

By completing this session, you will have the foundation to:

  • Properly define and discuss diversity,
  • Understand and value differences,
  • Recognize biases and behaviors that hinder individual and team productivity,
  • Work with a diverse workforce synergistically, and
  • Create an inclusive work environment where all individuals can be productively engaged.

This program is designed for business owners, managers and executives who would like to maximize productivity and gain a competitive advantage through a diverse and inclusive workforce.

The team from Nova Southeastern University came to Daytona Beach to meet with us, they listened to our needs and customized a program for our Synergy Leadership Academy. We found the program to be highly effective and very engaging. Our employees came away with a much higher level of self-awareness and a set of new skills that they could put to use right away. Nova Southeastern University really exceeded our expectations.
